OutlantaCon Includes WELCOME TO THE WORLD in Lineup
May 9, 2019
OutlantaCon has selected Albert's film Welcome to the World as part of its lineup this year. OutlantaCon, an Atlanta-based event for LGBTQIA geek audience, will screen the film on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 9pm, at the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta in the Narratives Block. After the festival ends and the winners are announced, those films will have a special additional screening in the historic Plaza Theater, Atlanta's oldest operating cinema.
Welcome to the World is a daring film about a troubled man who records a video message for his pregnant sister. Drawing its power and immediacy from its first-person, confessional style, the film presents, in one continuous shot, the journey of one man's awakening from isolation back to humanity. The film stars Albert and is directed by Albert and Anthony Grasso.
"LEADING MAN ALBERT M. CHAN... PLAYS AN EMOTIONALLY RAW MAN WITH A GRACE AND EASE THAT IS OFTEN ONLY SEEN WITHIN SOME OF THE MOST HIGH END ACTORS... PACKS A HUGE PUNCH... TO CREATE SUCH AN IMPACT ON A VIEWER IN ONLY SEVEN MINUTES WITH JUST ONE MAN, A SCRIPT AND A CAMERA CERTAINLY SPEAKS VOLUMES OF THE SKILLS THAT CHAN HAS AS A DIRECTOR, WRITER AND PERFORMER."
Now in its 11th year, OutlantaCon is Atlanta's LGBTQIA convention for sci-fi, pop-culture, multi-media, and gaming. The festival is for people who are not only coming to watch films but engage in discussion on issues relating to film, fandom and LGBTQIA issues around the globe.
