After a significant delay due to COVID-19, the Fargo-Moorhead KIDS Fantastic Film Festival will finally screen The Butler and the Ball on Saturday, April 17, 2020, at 9:30am [tickets]. The Fargo-Moorhead KIDS Fantastic Film Festival, a sidebar of the Fargo Fantastic Film Festival, highlights films that are either made BY kids or FOR kids and that embrace all the “fun” genres, such as sci-fi, fantasy, action, adventure, comedy, and horror. The festival takes place concurrently with Fargo-Moorhead Comic-Com at the Ramada Fargo in Fargo, North Dakota.

The Butler and the Ball is an urban fairy tale about a lonely boy who enters a contest to become the new butler of a grieving, reclusive singer, is directed by eight-year-old Andrew Chan-Possemato, who wrote and produced it with Albert.

The Fargo-Moorhead KIDS Fantastic Film Festival aims to help youth become critical media users as well as gain a voice thru media and also learn about filmmaking and media literacy. For 12 years, the Fargo Fantastic Film Festival was a part of ValleyCon, the area’s largest science fiction, fantasy and popular culture convention. Over the course of 12 years, the film festival grew and evolved to a point where it needed to be broken away from the host convention and made an event of its own.
