The Butler and the Ball, which was awarded Best Narrative Film in the “12 and under” category at the 2020 International KidsNFilm Festival in California, will rescreen at the 2021 International KidsNFilm Festival as a first-place winner from last year. The Butler and the Ball will anchor Screening 2, which occurs virtually on November 13, 2021, at 2pm PST (5pm EST). The screening will also be available on demand from November 13, 2021, 7pm PST (10pm EST) through November 15, 2021, 4am PST (7am EST). Tickets are $6 and available here.
The Butler and the Ball, an urban fairy tale about a lonely boy who enters a contest to become the new butler of a grieving, reclusive singer, was directed by eight-year-old Andrew Chan-Possemato, who wrote and produced it with Albert. The film previously won Best Young Director – Live Action at Kids Video Connection Children’s Film Festival, Best Kids-Made Film at the San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival, and the Under 10 category at the Prague Youth Film Festival.
The International KidsNFilm Festival celebrates both youth actors and filmmakers. It is an opportunity and forum for youth to showcase their work and express their creativity. The festival is a production of Kids N Film, which encourages self-esteem, confidence building, and creativity through on-camera and behind the scene production training.
