Albert will play the lead role of Alexis Alexandrovitch in a staged reading of The Game of Chess by Kenneth Sawyer Goodman, presented with Play Club at the Chess Forum (219 Thompson St, NYC) on June 10th at 8pm. Admission is free.

The Game of Chess is a 1912 one-act play by Kenneth Sawyer Goodman that delves into the intricate dynamics between two characters, Alexis Alexandrovitch and Boris Ivanovitch Shamrayeff, as they engage in a metaphorical game of chess that mirrors their power struggle and psychological warfare.

Chess Forum is the last old style New York City chess store and game parlor open to the public. Located at the original site of Grandmaster Nicolas Rossolimo’s Chess Studio in Greenwich Village, Bobby Fischer was a frequent visitor to the studio as well as art and film greats Marcel Duchamp and Stanley Kubrick.
