The Butler and the Ball has won first prize in Category 1A – Fictional Movie Made by Filmmakers up to 10 Years of Age in the Czech Republic at the A-FilmTeensFest International Online Children and Youth Film Festival, running November 14-December 5, 2021. The film screens in the film block DÁRECKY OD NEJMLADŠÍCH (Gifts from the Youngest).
The award ceremony will take place in the Prague cinema Kino Pilotû on Saturday, December 4, and will be moderated by Czech celebrity. On December 5, the most successful award-winning films will be screened.
The Butler and the Ball, an urban fairy tale about a lonely boy who enters a contest to become the new butler of a grieving, reclusive singer, was directed by eight-year-old Andrew Chan-Possemato, who wrote and produced it with Albert. The film previously won in the Under 10 category at the Prague Youth Film Festival in the Czech Republic.
A-FilmTeensFest started in December 2019 in the Kino Světozor art cinema in Prague as Teenfilmfest.cz, and in 2020 continued with screenings for schools.
